Contact rating refers to the maximum voltage and current that a relay output can safely switch, e.g., 5A/250VAC, 10A/30VDC. The relay contact rating of an industrial remote control receiver determines the load it can drive directly: 5A/250VAC can directly control small contactor coils and solenoid valves.
