DSSS (Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum) multiplies a narrowband signal by a high-speed pseudo-random code to spread it across a wide band for transmission; the receiver uses the same code to despread and recover the signal. Benefits: resistance to narrowband interference (interference is diluted by the spreading gain), anti-interception, and code-division multiple access (different codes for different devices). FHSS frequency hopping and DSSS direct spreading are the two mainstream spread-spectrum technologies: FHSS hops between frequency points, DSSS widens the spectrum. LIDER uses FHSS; some high-end XINGJIA models support DSSS.
